Originally owned by A J Tear & Company Ltd, which was founded by Alfred James Tear in 1909, the business was taken over in the late 1950s by John Glanister and the Glanmar trade name was created. We have always made fine quality, hand crafted beds using natural fillings. We have a broad customer base from private clients through to interior designers and privately owned hotel groups.You may well have liaised with John Glanister, or indeed his son Robert who took over from his father in 1995. Colin Payne, Group Operations Director is still personally overseeing the production of every Glanmar bed and mattress and, as part of Mansion House Group, Glanmar is proud to maintain the ethos of hand-made quality and attention to detail upon which our clients depend.
